"You Hid"- Toro Y Moi

Just watched this over at Yourstru.ly and it's pretty awesome. Apparently it was all laid down by the one guy in the video, so much respect. Seriously digging the Beach Boyesque vocals and harmonies.

Regina Spektor-No Surprises

Just read about the Regina Spektor's cover of "No Surprises" over at You Ain't No Picasso. It's so good I felt I needed to share it. Stream it here.

Here's what she has to say about it:
"Hi! On Tuesday April 27th, iTunes will release a cover i did of a Radiohead (i LOVE them, and thank them for donating their proceeds too!!! they are the best!) song "No Surprises". The proceeds will go to Doctors Without Borders Emergency Relief Fund. The show at Irving Plaza raised a lot of money but this gives a chance for more people to participate and donate to victims of earthquakes in Haiti and Chile."
So if you really like it, buy it.

Paxico Via Mexico

I was checking up on one of my favorite local bands, Paxico Via Mexico, when I saw this video on their facebook page. I've watched it a few times now and it's got my really excited for their new EP in May.

A friend and I met Ricky while waiting to get into a show a couple of months ago. He is one of the nicest artists I've met and I really hope Paxico gets the attention it deserves.

Laura Marling-Rambling Man

Laura Marling's new album I Speak Because I Can has been in heavy rotation since I got it last week. Here's the video for "Rambling Man," the second single from the album.

Levek

A friend of mine showed me Levek the other week. From what I understand the man behind the music, Mr. David Levesque, has an extensive collection of Disney movies and favors the ukulele. Sonically Levek reminds me of a more spaced out Devendra Banhart. I was really taken by the cover Grizzly Bear's Shift and the accompanying video.

Discovering Discovery

I found out about Discovery on MOKB. It's the side project of members of Ra Ra Riot and Vampire Weekend. Turns out the bands were room mates at some point. Any way discovery kind of reminds me of what T-pain would be if he were a white indie boy and a member of a popular indie band. Their website. Orange Shirt and Osaka Loop Line really stand out to me.

Built to Spill

Built to Spill has been sitting dormant in my music library for a long time. A week or two ago I started listening to them for no reason at all. Liar really stood out to me.
